Learning and implementing Resolution of 8th plenum of 12th session
On December 27, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Construction held a conference on studying and implementing the 8th plenum of the 12th Central Committee.

Deputy Minister of Construction Le Quang Hung at the event
During the event, Deputy Minister of Construction Le Quang Hung talked about some issues related to the implementation of the resolution 36 – NQ/TW, especially the issues which Ministry of Construction must have action plans and solutions to reach the targets.
The Deputy Minister stressed that, the overall objective of the marine economy by 2030 is to strive for marine economic regions with a value of about 10% of GDP. For 28 coastal provinces and cities, these localities must create an estimated marine economic value of about 65% - 70% of total GDP. The marine economy must be the driving force to create a large proportion in GDP. 10 years ago, the marine economy was also considered the driving force to create a large proportion in GDP with oil and gas exploitation as the focus. But now there is a shift, focusing on developing services and tourism, because long-term oil and gas exploitation will run out. So what issues should the construction industry care about?
This is a key issue, because the sea is associated with logisctic, tourism, ecology ... so cities and export processing zones will grow as a nature. The second issue related to climate change in the sea. It is expected that by 2050, sea level will increase by about 15 - 20cm and invade the mainland. At that time, we will face many urban problems such as flooding and drainage. The third problem is the construction of coastal structures, utilizing coastal construction materials related to invasion and durability of construction works in the island region. These issues must be cared carefully to avoid the nagative impacts.
